This holiday season, surprise the gin lover in your life with one of these exceptional spirits handcrafted in New York.
Greenhook Ginsmiths American Dry Gin (Brooklyn, NY)
Hailing from Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Greenhook’s American Dry Gin is created in a custom-made 300-liter copper pot still, specifically engineered to work under a vacuum, which removes air pressure from the still. The result is a lively and aromatic spirit that perfectly balances juniper flavors with herbal, floral and citrus notes.
Tommyrotter Barrel Aged Gin (Buffalo, NY)
Tommyrotter’s distinctive barrel aged gin is distilled in the same fashion as their award-winning American Gin, and rested post-distillation in white American oak barrels with a #3 char. The resulting spirit offers aromas of violet, baked pear, fennel, and honeyed nutmeg, complemented by flavors of apricot, clove, citrus peel, and vanilla.
New York Distilling Company Chief Gowanus New Netherland Gin (Brooklyn, New York)
Created with a little help from Brooklyn’s resident historian of drink, Dr. David Wondrich, Chief Gowanus is based on an early American recipe for making a version of “Holland Gin” out of American rye whiskey. This unique spirit starts as a double-distilled rye whiskey, which is then run through the pot still one more time with juniper berries and Cluster hops, then matured in oak for three months.
Brooklyn Gin (Warwick, NY)
Brooklyn Gin is a bright, aromatic gin crafted with fresh citrus peels and hand-cracked juniper. Fresh, complex, and flavorful, Brooklyn Gin has proven itself with an impressive collection of medals and awards, all noting its unmatched vibrancy.
Wolffer Estate Pink Gin (Sagaponack, NY)
Using their well-known rosé as a base, Wolffer’s Pink Gin is crafted with handpicked juniper berries, anise, fennel, coriander, cumin, and cardamom, along with a touch of fresh mint. Perfect for adding a festive hue to your G&T or Martini.
Lakeward Spirits Wild Gin (Buffalo, NY)
Lakeward's Wild Gin is an interesting variation on the classic Genever style, with a blend of 16 different botanicals inspired by the woodland trails in the Cattaraugus Gorge in Zoar Valley. An earthy herbal base is complemented by hints of juniper, peppercorn, chamomile, and rose.
Queens Courage Old Tom Gin (Queens, NY)
Created by Astoria Distilling Company, Queens Courage is a New York Old Tom gin that is lighter than a Dutch Genever, but more full-bodied than a London Dry, with a subtle sweetness derived from New York rooftop honey. The botanicals are distilled in separate fractions then blended together, allowing for the most control over the final flavor.
Lockhouse Sakura Gin (Buffalo, NY)
Made using cherry blossoms collected from throughout the Olmsted Park System, this gin opens with a soft delicate texture and finishes firm, floral, and slightly sweet.
Breuckelen Distilling Glorious Gin: Oaked (Brooklyn, NY)
Originally an experiment that started with resting their Glorious Gin in oak barrels, this distinctive, small batch spirit picks up notes of vanilla, baking spices, and a warmth from its time in oak.
Saint Lawrence Spirits New York Dry Gin (Clayton, NY)
Offering opening notes of pepper, coriander, and lemon aromas, this award winning, juniper-forward gin packs sweet notes of cassia and citrus, with slightly bitter orange peel notes helping to smooth out the finish.
